Welcome to the Bank of Finland Museum!

The Bank of Finland Museum presents the history of money and central banking activities right in the heart of Helsinki, in the foundations of the Lutheran cathedral and just a stone’s throw from the Bank of Finland itself. In addition to the permanent exhibition, approximately once a year there is also a special exhibition on a variable topic.

The Museum is designed to appeal to all who have an interest in the economy and society.

You can visit the Museum independently during its opening hours. The Museum is open Tuesdays to Fridays 11:00 – 17:00 and Saturdays and Sundays 11:00 – 16:00. On Mondays the Museum is closed.

Due to the coronavirus situation, however, we are limiting the number of visitors: there can be a maximum of 20 people in the museum at the same time.

The group size and the number of guided tours are also limited: a maximum of two guided tours will be held per day, with a maximum of 12 people on each tour. More information on the Visit-page.

You are also warmly welcome to the Museum cafeteria and to browse the items on offer in our shop.

Entrance to the Bank of Finland Museum is always free of charge. Welcome!
