Multimedia display
The museum’s multimedia consoles and the study aids designed for school children bring the abstract topics of finance and banking sectors alive. You can try your hand as a central banker with the monetary policy game, or you can test your knowledge about monetary policy, EU, financial markets etc. You can also see how the price of a train fare, for instance, has changed from the 1800s to present.
The multimedia reflect the topics presented in the nearby display units and give more in-depth information. They are also accessible to groups, for they can be projected onto the white screen in the central opening.
Study aids
Have you ever thought what would happen if the prices of the goods that you buy were to continue rising? How expensive purchases can I really afford? What do various statistics tell about the economy?
Answers to these and many other economic questions are provided in a fun and easily accessible way via the study aids provided in the Eurokampus section of the website (www.euro.fi/en/). The site has been designed to serve as a supplementary source of material for teaching economics in upper secondary schools and vocational colleges. It is an easy-to-use and fun way to familiarise oneself with the many ways the monetary economy works, all of which have important implications to one’s own financial affairs.
By familiarising yourself with the study aid on economics you can deepen your economic understanding. Tasks on monetary policy guide you to the basics of monetary policy while the tasks on loans and interest rates help you to understand the real cost of borrowed money. After going through the questions on statistics you will be better equipped to interpret economic statistics accurately. Lastly, the written assignments will sort the wheat from the chaff!
