The heart of the Museum is its central plaza, where the functions, tasks and operation of a modern central bank and monetary policy are presented. In the central plaza, visitors can follow the daily operations of a central bank. The display cases illustrate money theory, payment transfers, and stability of the banking system, maintenance of the currency supply, monetary and exchange rate policy as well as the tasks and functions of the Bank of Finland and the European System of Central Banks.
The monetary policy section presents abstract ideas graphically and clearly. Various phenomena are demonstrated with the help of games and multimedia.
